Heavy Periods

Having heavy periods is a very common reason for seeing a gynaecologist.  The good news is that often there is an effective way to improve periods that will suit most women.

Often further investigation may be appropriate, with an ultrasound scan, some form of biopsy of the lining of the womb, usuallly by way of a  hysteroscopy

Assuming that there is no specific cause found, then either a Mirena IUS, an Endometrial Ablation or a Hysterectomy are three of the most usual and effective forms of treatment.
